gel medium transfers

detail from a gel medium transfer i did yesterday

it's not often artists reveal their techniques, much less secrets on how to achieve certain results...but, paul fujita does just that on his website, which fully explains gel medium transfers. i've always wondered about this process, and paul takes you step by step with clear descriptions and pictures. if you like what you see and enjoy his site, i strongly suggest scrolling down (on the step by step page) and donating $5 to his site...i did! thanks paul..

gel medium heaven! one of my favorite passtimes (when i had time...soon will make more more MORE!)

the stuff's probably going to give us cancer, right? i know you're not supposed to dip your hand in it, but i like to scoop it up with my fingers, apply, then rub off with my fingers later on. i would use the stuff as icing on cupcakes if it actually tasted okay ;)

(i have yet to check out that site. i'm afraid my process is going to kill me.)

Neat!

I do gel medium transfers on collages. I've found if I time it just right, the paper will come off fairly clean so I don't have to rub it off.

oh, wow...you MUST be good at this..

finding the right combination of medium and pressure is the key, i guess. i sure haven't mastered it, but i enjoy getting lost in the process. ;D

acrylic gel medium is relatively non-toxic. It beats all other transfer methods as far as the poison factor goes. Thanks for checking out my site! I plan on updating it soon with some new tricks.
