edward scissor, paint and marker hands

are these tim burton's fingerprints?

chuck, a couple friends, and i made our way to azusa to partake in the much hyped tim burton/lisa marie garage sale this morning. it was actually in a warehouse, and mr. burton and lisa marie were nowhere to be found, but i still feel more complete and right with the world having crossed this off my list of 'things to do' in life. (note: my tongue is firmly placed in cheek)

this was the wait to get INTO the garage sale. our wait..aprox. 45 min. no photos allowed in the joint, but chuck saw a lot of people whipping their camera phones out anyway.

and here we have exhibit A, a container of theatrical clown face paint..hardly used. maybe lisa marie bought it thinking it was cold cream? oops.

and here's what i added to my shopping cart. yes, while other women were drooling over the $100 prada purses, i was perfectly ecstatic to find one humongous bag of miscellaneous markers, one very used palette knife, 3 boxes of china markers, and barely used acrylic and clown paint..for a whopping $10. hmm. wonder how much this would fetch me on ebay?

afterward, chuck and i poked around the pasadena art center campus. isn't this photo just soooooooo punk art school?

I'm glad someone went! We had planned to go, but my better half had a visit from the grouchy monthly visitor, Cramp-pa, as we fondly like to call it. Sounds like you two scored.

Call me dense, but I didn't realize until just now (thanks to the photo) that you and chuckvideo were a duo...married even! You two kids seem like a fun couple :)

Congrats with the engagement :)

Yeah, I think I'm passing on the sloppy seconds at the TB sale. I've got a Little Saigon eat-a-thon field trip tomorrow anyhow. But I'm glad you two got to go; too bad you couldn't take photos. Anything real unusual?

you know, it really looked like a normal pick and paw garage sale to me, aside from the designer clothes and accessories..but, i s'pose the $20,000 leopard couch was a stand out. gawd, who KNOWS what kinda bacterial evidence is teaming on those cushions! couple other odd things still left..one potter's wheel and a mint condition, still in package, elvis doll. geesh, you'd think lisa marie would've SIGNED the damn thing to make it actually worth something. i mean, after all, i heard she's 'broke' and needs her 'medicine.'

have fun at your feeding fest. don't forget the pepto ;-)

Thank you. Now I can tell my friends, "Yeah I heard about the sale. I didn't go 'cause I had to work. But a livejournal friend went." Yay!

Were people walking out carrying crazy prosthetics and cells and stuff? Or was it less spectacular?

if there was movie stuff, it walked outta there before we arrived, cuz all we saw were garagey sale type things. we did keep eyeballing people's stuff when they walked out, and it seemed on the gothy side, leopard prints, dark tassled floor pillows, stuff like that. it was fun poking about, though. i made a few girls jealous with my giant bag of messy pens and paints. and i can hold out hope and imagine my clown paint was smeared on johnny depp in 'edward scissorhands.' ;-)

Re: burton jelousy
acrylic on foamcore. very lo-budge but an interesting exercise in understanding cubism-like ideas. i am working on whirling on a few ideas. if i ever figure out this picture posting, i'll show off some more.
thanks for the encouragement though!

Re: burton jelousy
oh deary, we need to set you up with pictures..

do you have a place to send and store pictures? like a website? once you have your images stored somewhere in cyber space, you just direct your journal writer to that url. did you play with xjournal yet? it helps to know a little html code, but it's pretty user friendly.

lemme know if you need any more help, k?
