god bless it america.

well, fuckles.

i'm pretty sure my vote did NOT count today in california's presidential primary election because of THiS. it's all over the news, people were confused or just plain unaware of this double bubble they had to fill out to indicate their party pref. i even went back to my polling place to discuss this (my ballot was irretrievable in a locked box) and they assured me my vote would count as long as i specified a candidate. figures, even THEY'RE clueless. something's clearly wrong with the ballot design, not to mention the lack of cohesiveness and communication amongst poll workers in this area.

*sigh*

lucky for me, i would've been happy with either barack or hillary, but still.....

Yeah, luckily I listened to Warren Olney this afternoon before I voted, and he had the guy from MoveOn.org, who was alerting everyone to it. Of course, I am Miss. Anxiety, and was a total spaz walking in there, and, and, and,

OMG, it's so easy to get all worked up. Luckily, I'll be happy with either Hillary or Obama. But I was sorely tempted by that sexy name, "Kucinich" on the ballot.

awwww, meeeyan....i hope there's a recount, or more appropriately a REAL count.....i, too, am a nervous nelly walking into those polling places. i'm ashamed to admit it, but one year i totally fucked up my ballot in those thingies where you push 'em under and poke threw 'em......needless to say, my vote did NOT count that year either.

i still have nightmares about having to figure out the ol' school 'curtain shut' voting booths!!! dear lourdes....i just know i'll be swept away in some futuristic time machine!!!!

i'm such a simpleton.....i want someone to ask me POiNT BLANK what i want and then i'll tell 'em. but, sadly, life just isn't that easy......yet.

Are you not a registered Dem? It looks like that only applies to non-affiliated voters.

well, here's the fuzzy deal....

i YAM a registered dem...but, they sent me a non-partisan ballet, even though i requested a 'democrat only.' why is it that my boyfriend is affiliated with the republican party and had no issues or no 'double bubbles' to fill. i'm effing furious!

i'm still so confused. i thought i could just vote for my candidate and and said measures and be counted....but, apparently, that is not the case.....until someone stands up and demands a recount, i'm floating, as always. all i know is i'm not perfect, but this ballet design is sorely in need of revision, if not overhaul.

i'm still shaking......that my voice hasn't officially been heard....yet?

That is an absolute outrage.

How did that turn out?

I voted by mail so I was already registered... I can't remember what my first page looked like, but I don't think I had to fill in another bubble?

I don't remember! I just know that the first bubble I filled in was for which guy I chose, so did I miss one before that, or was it not on mine?

Oh well, I guess the primaries don't matter as much if you care more about which party wins, not which person in your party. haha

They'd better fix this shit before the actual presidential election comes up!

ain't it the truth??? i've been scratching my head ever since tuesday.....

i also voted absentee, but turned it in to my polling place. didn't see the bubble, didn't know to look for it. i basically used my sample ballot as reference to mark all my choices, and never saw this declaration of democrat vs. independent.

turns out there was such confusion that state officials have vowed to probe further, meaning there might be a recount. but, it looks like 90,000+ voters may have been disenfranchised this go around.

you're right!!!! i hope they figure this out before november....

Wow, so your sample ballot didn't have that on there? Well then how are you supposed to know, that is so wrong!

I might be okay because I'm registered republican already so I got like a whole republican package, at least I think... I don't know though?

I saw your petition thing though and I hope lots of people sign it, every deserves a chance to vote and a lot of people are pissed that Hillary looks like the winner already because they're afraid she won't get as many votes later on since she's a woman and all... and that Barack would be safer, I don't know, but everyone should get their say, it might really matter more than we think!

yeah, you're good as gold with the republican declaration. it was only the non-partisan people that got screwed. i swear i didn't see any bubble on my sample ballot regarding the democrat or independent party.

and you're right, a lot of people are concerned that hillary can't win the election if nominated.....buuuuuuut, things can turn on a dime in politics, so we'll see.

i mean, gore could still jump in at any time!!!! HAHAHAHA
