can't sleep, walking

can't sleep.
neither can our dog.
at least i finished david sedaris' book, 'me talk pretty one day.'
been nursing that one for months.
watched a bit of harold lloyd in his first talkie, 'welcome danger.' hilarious dubbing going on, where it's painfully obvious they were in a closed studio trying to match the visuals.
oh, and i reintroduced myself to the joys of flavored yogurt over cheerios.

i'd say i'm keeping pretty productive..

Wow...
I'm not sure if it's the insomnia (which I'm also afflicted with tonight, btw :) or something else, but I'm loving that icon!!! Is that the same as the 2nd one on the list you'd posted the other day? Looks very pretty! Course, all those good feelings totally went out the window when I read about "flavoured yogurt over cheerios"... blasphemer!!! :)

Re: Wow...
what in goddess' name are YOU still doing up! don't you have a REAL job to go to in a few hours?

and yuppa, that's the same pic from the last batch of cookies. it's that 'i feel ditsy' look, which wasn't that big of a stretch!

hey, don't knock the yogurt thing till you try it mister. think of it as REALLY thick milk over cereal ;-)

I like yogurt with granola. MMMMMMM Very tasty. For all you insomniacs, try chamomile tea. Very soothing. I love the wet dog pictures. I prefer the dog in the car window look myself. You know, windows down on the interstate, hair flying all over. Very refreshing. I have to stop myself from hanging my tongue out:)

Re: pammy
mm. i'll have to try that tea next time..

love that dog out the window look! wylee used to LOVE his car rides! he'd brace himself as far out as doggly possible without completely jumping out. and it didn't matter what speed i was driving..and the sharper the turning radius, the better. and one of my ALL time favorite memories of him was a few weeks before he died, when he and i were hanging out in the backyard and a santa ana wind caught us by surprise. he just sat there and took it all in, smiling..like he knew it would be his last good whiff..

Re: pammy
Buddy is getting a little slower and Gizzmo is having fun with his newish friend, Dallas. He is the terrier mix we got from the pound. He is a spitfire- or a junkyard doggie. Compared to mr. foo foo Gizmo. They are a funny duo. Dallas likes to pull Gizzy around by his hair. It is pretty funny to see. I'll send you a picture when I figure out how to do it.

Re: Wow...
That's what my daughter and I had for breafast this morning! (and I thought I had made it up) The strawberry yogurt was UNDER the cheerios, though. But... it's all the same in the end.

Re: Wow...
oh, that's just plain SCARY! i didn't think anybody else did it either! well good, at least i don't feel so weird..

and my grandma and mom are most definitely to blame for my queer food combinations. grandma used to mix cereals..kix with fruit loops, captain crunch with cheerios, you get the idea.. AND she used to pour the milk FIRST before putting in the cereal, to prevent the soggies. now, THAT i don't do. but, i have to admit, she was pretty brilliant.

and mom used to eat popcorn like cereal. pour popcorn in a cup of milk and spoon it up. i know it sounds certifiable, but it's really GOOD!

any other weird food combos? please share..

Re: Wow...
Breakfast-wise, I worked with a guy who used to eat chocolate milk with oatmeal. Now that doesn't seem that strange until I found out it was UNCOOKED oatmeal.
mmm.. tasteless dry oatmeal soaked in fake-tasting mechanically thickened chocolate beverage.

What did you think of 'Me Talk Pretty One Day'? I bought that on a whim and am still trying to decide how I liked it.

you know, i liked it..
BUT,
i think i liked 'naked' just a little bit better for some reason.
my favorite stories are the ones relating to his family. he seemed to focus more on his relationship with his boyfriend and living in paris in 'talk pretty', which was fun, but not as endearing to me as the family stuff.

i REALLY liked the story '12 moments in the life of the artist,' for obvious reasons. he's got the whole self deprecating thing down.

I was doing some searches today and thought you might find these interesting too. Often it seems overwhelming how many paths there are.
