re-unity

chuck and i had a short, but sweet, visit in phoenix over the weekend. saw dad, who looked great...a little fatigued, but up and around and easing into a strange new lifestyle, one that includes a restrictive diet and exercise. yes, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. visited with bev and her son, curt, stayed with vicki (my biological mom) and her husband, john...and i was SO happy to see pam (my sis) and sean (my nephew), after a long 4 year absence. all this activity within a 24 hour span..i'm left wondering if it was just a dream?? chuck was such the trooper, driving us there on little sleep and whisking us back on such short notice...power reuniting, it's the wave of the future.

me, dad, and pam..dad muttered 'my girls..' as this picture was being taken

me, sean, and pam

chuck (the king of hand held photos), me, and pammy

me and pam...i love you PAMMY!!!!!

sean and pam (chuck took this shot-i love it! this is classic pam and sean, horsing around...we're always left guessing, 'who's the parent and who's the child?')

sean and pam in true form, circa 1988, taken at the iowa state fair

me, circa 1987, (as long as we're in nostalgic mode) obviously taken before i owned tweezers ;D

Yeah the mountains are fun to climb around on. There are tons and tons of malls in Phoenix. Way too many. There is a salon near my house called 'Cut and Dye'. I like that one. Heh.

good trip
Glad to hear things are ok. When I saw the picture with Chuck in it I could tell immediately that it was a hand held. Chuck always has a look about him, intense in getting the shot.

HAHA!!
nope, just me. i was bough...uh...adopted almost specifically because my folks wanted a sister for pam...they didn't wanna risk popping out another boy!!! lucky me!!!!

yeah, she looks a lot like your dad, that's why I was wondering.

that's funny, that's basically why I was adopted. My parents had two sons and they definitely wanted a girl.

isn't it wild, that adoption was so non-chalant back then? i'm surprised we didn't come with a 30 day money back guarantee..

i'm continually pinching myself though, cuz i really lucked out in the family department. if my mom hadn't given me up, (and she chose the same path), i would've been an only child...which would've sucked beyond belief. yea for siblings.

aaah thanks..i'm notorious for bringing a camera, but NEVER remembering to have pictures taken...one of the many nasty habits i'm trying to break. ;D

on a side note...i really love your icon. i'm sure it's a re-worked photo of yours??? the chocolaty background makes me happy...and hungry?

Ahhh, I wish it was a reworked photo. It's actually the duvet cover that I am coveting, the "drift" pattern from Amenity. It just makes me so happy to look at it, I need it everywhere. I can't wait till I can buy it.

ooop. that site is delicious! thanks for the link.
i just added it to my 'mod' bookmarks! we live in a post mod home (with an IKEA budget), but it never hurts to window shop..and save for that extra special duvet!

speaking of all things unibrow...

i got my brows waxed last wednesday at the hair salon i go to. forty yrs old and the first time my brows have been touched since my mom first tortured me with a tweezer when i was 12 or 13. and possibly the last time! it took like 6 days (um... that's today!) before i could touch the "cleaned up" part of my brow area without squirming.

perhaps i'm just a whimp, a brow-wiennie, but i think i'm DOnE with wax hair removal experimentation.

I haven't seen you in years... like, since that one time in iowa maybe???? or did i not see you but just swung by to pick up becky, when we got our bellies pierced???? were you home then???? if not... yeegadz. the last time i saw you was at the beckykalevent???? no way. i had to have seen you at some point since then... wow. anyway, whenever it was, it was way too long ago. you look awesome, and yowza! sean is all grown up!! he's such a cutie!!!!!!! and i love the pam and sean picture- total classic fer shur. and the vintage becky and pammy shots... talk about a time warp. it flashed me back to the becky warhol photo i took of you at isu and that time i rode my bike all the way out to visit you when you were staying at pam's. happy memories of our crazy days in IOway. chocolate milk, fortune cookies, the three on the tree buick and lots of beetles and antz!!!!!!
