i con, you con, we all con

i just love our library's 'free box.' where else can you find 'don carter's 10 secrets of bowling' (1961), 'royal canadian air force exercise plans for physical fitness' (1962), and a june/1969 issue of 'homemaking with flair?' (complete with 7 cents off coupons!) i've already started to make icons..

now i'm wondering if there's a community out there dedicated to critiquing icon art..hm. yet another distraction keeping me from starting my day.

holy crap. that "be the ball" one dominates my world! nice finds.

from there you can probably grab onto branches and swing around to your heart's delight.
most of them seem to be comprised of pictures of celebrities. regardless, they kind of annoy me.

ahhh! i thought you'd enjoy the bowling ones. i've made a few more and can't wait to post 'em. you're welcome to kipe any and all..it's a pity you only get 15 icons with a paid account. i wanna know who to fuck around here to get my 50, DAMN iT!!!

thanks for the icon linx, too. i'll have to get my swingin' gloves on.

Anything I can do to distract you from actually getting started with your day - just ask. I was at work for nine hours today. And I only got 30 minutes of work done! I'm a pro. All one needs is a supply of weird livejournal communities to browse, some "think pieces" from respected journals, lots of message boards, and databases and electronic journals through a proxy with your local library. Though my situation is probalby different from yours, since I actually get paid while I'm doing it (and therefore I don't feel so guilty for spending half my day like this, on my ass - except: personally, I often retrospectively tell myself that I should have spent the entire time with the databases and electronic journals. You know, so that I wasn't wasting my time in drivel, and was instead dedicately expanding my mind).

I'm seeing if I can do some animated gifs for icons. I captured some video of nintendo games on my computer and am working on editing them. Which is proving to be difficult. And I think I'm going to take a break and play some more games....for inspiration.

ahh. the question is:
how MUCH work are you condensing into those 30 minutes? if you're compressing a massive amount of energy and spewing forth like a mad, hissing espresso machine, good for you. optimal living is a craft. the 8.5 remaining hours can be savored like a fine wine..

'think pieces.' that's nice. don't have enough of those here. again, send linx, i've got 8.5 hours to waste.

The illustrations in vintage bowling books are great, illustrations are my favorite part of any 50's or 60's mags and books. What a find in a free box!

oh, i know!

i find myself looking for excuses to stop by the library anymore, just knowing there may be goodies waiting in that box for me..hey, it's either in my hot little hands or the landfill.
i think the kids who hang out on the front step (where the coveted box lies) must think i'm crazy, cuz i'm always grabbing the old beat up manuals, ancient magazines and out of date text books.

gold, i tellya, GOLD!
