baby smith on art star radio - TODAY!

i'll be the featured guest on eva lake's artstar radio tonight. trust me folks, eva's the real artstar here...i've been stalking following her for a long time now. reading her online diary, viewing her photomontage work and paintings, and e-chatting all the while. so, when she asked me to be on her show, i nearly shot through the roof. it was a complete honor to sit down with her in chambers last week to discuss all things art.

baby smith
'heap no. 90' (fat of the land series)
found objects on altered book cover

so, to tune in today, go here (5:00pm pacific/standard time) to view images of my work while listening, you can go here, here, or here.

and if you miss it tonight, i'll be up on the archives for 6 weeks. (dec 11th broadcast)

and if ya REALLY wanna get freaky deaky and have some serious sensory overload...tune in here to watch me live listening to my unlive self....and wishing i'd been born with kathleen turner's voice.

*note to college students everywhere: optional drinking game can also be played during the broadcast...just take a shot everytime you hear me say the word 'like.' that is, of course, if you don't mind having your stomach pumped afterward..

enjoy the show!

How many drinks does one have for every time you say "just so you know"? ;-)

I can't wait to hear tonight's broadcast! I think we'll pipe it out through the back yard speakers and crank it to 110 decibels so all the land (or all of La Crescenta, which ever is bigger) can hear your artstar show.

I'll be listening! At least I hope so...it depends on whether it uses software my computer likes. I hope it's not real audio. That always causes my computer to lock up. We'll be getting a new computer at tax refund time.
I love that collage, by the way!

if you have itunes, it should automatically open up if you listen live tonight. if you download the archive (starting tomorrow) it's an MP3 file. also, they have podcast options (upper left portion of the KPSU site)

good luck!

I enjoyed the interview. I got to listen to it live. At the end you were talking, then all of a sudden we were listening to community events.

yeah, a bit of it got cropped (although i don't think you missed much)...and i was afraid i couldn't fill up an hour?!! i really liked the gritty remoteness of it. the echo of being in a public place with a simple tape recorder was RiGHT up my alley (very andy warhol!) yup, that eva, she trips my trigger, alright. aaaaanyway...if you heard the bit about purses...that was referring to the people purse on project! the first time i met her i walked in carrying one of them..

Nobody Walks in L.A.
I listened live yesterday. Great interview! I like how it covered your whole process, including your blog and part about walking in L.A. and freaking people out.

...And I don't think you said 'like' enough time to get even a Utah college student drunk.

Re: Nobody Walks in L.A.
HAHAHAHA.....y'yah....but, i certainly got in the word "absoLUTeLY" enough, didn't i???? that woulda surely put any student in defib.

Re: Nobody Walks in L.A.
It's true that a bit of the interview got cut off in the end, but just a tiny bit. We were almost done. Altogether only one minute of 'music' was played...
