just passing the time..

i've had a rough couple of days health wise....i'm hoping to bounce back fully for tomorrow night's events : a 3 person show at the source on lake (in pasadena), and a group show at the i-5 (downtown). sure hope i can muster enough energy to act halfway normal.

all i gotta say is.....red stuff should NEVER come out of your pee pee. EVER. i've only had 4 or 5 urinary tract infections in my life, but this one took first place prize for pain. after each 'session' i checked the toilet believing i surely passed some sort of object : kidney stone, baby, basketball...

i'm not a fan of antibiotics, but all i could think was, 'gee, i'm so relieved i'm not a cave woman who has to suffer and possibly croak because of a little bacterial infection.'

i knew i was clearly out of my head the other day when the doc offered me pain pills and i declined. WHAT WAS i THiNKiNG?!!!

i'm not totally vegetarian anymore, but i do like healthy...(gotta have salty ham once in awhile!) but, i generally shop at ralphs, vons, trader joes and whole foods..

i'm all about salads these days, and that kinda stuff you can find anywhere. thanks for all your links-the only thing remotely food like i buy online are seeds for my sprout maker. ;D

Yeah, see if I want ham, I always have to find one without all the nitrates and antibiotics and crap, and then I'm fine! If I eat the packaged stuff with added crap, I really feel it.

I don't know, I just got all sensitive to foods in the last few years. I can't even eat a whole piece of cake with icing without feeling like a truck ran over me!

I'm glad there are 3 Whole Foods stores near enough to me!

They do have good ham without anything added, and its sooo good in a salad with purple onions and a little ranch!

amen sistuh! i hear ya..

i'm finally buckling and seeing a doctor in the next couple weeks...hopefully to discuss possible allergies, etc. i think you're on the right track though, eating as fresh as possible. it's the additives and chemicals and crap that seem to throw a lot of people off whack.

Yeah and I'm realizing how toxic it is for us and we don't really realize it... but you can tell a difference if you go without it for a while.

What made you decide not to be vegetarian anymore? That's a huge step!
May. 16th, 2007 05:20 pm (UTC)
it was a combination of things...

but, the biggest reason: my body was telling me i needed certain things, not that you can't get plenty of protein being vegetarian (i was for 11 years and felt great most of the time)...it came down to a balance issue for me. i was trying to find things that i could actually eat and not feel like crap afterward (probably due to allergies?). so, when i can't get my regular sources of protein, i opt for meat....which is only a few bites every other month or so and maybe one piece of bacon a year. i love me some SALT.

Oh, that's not much meat!

I do try not to eat meat and stuff from fast food places, but other than that, I have it all the time. When I did the diet competition thing last month, I ate mushrooms instead of meat just to lose the weight quick but I really felt like something was missing! haha

LOVE me some portobello mushrooms....they're ALMOST steak like!!!! deprivation diets do suck it, don't they?...so, if you can find great substitutes, that's the key....now, if i could just find a good replacement for peanut m&m's, i'd be SET. HAHAHAHA

hey, do you know how to make Lj threads, to condense our long convo? i never quite learned how to do that???? ...and you're such a savvy 'puter pro!!!
May. 16th, 2007 09:44 pm (UTC)
I thought that once you got to a certain amount of replies, it would just condense automatically, right?

Is that what you meant?
May. 16th, 2007 10:00 pm (UTC)
aaaaaaaaah, i thought it was an option you could manually set....thanks for the info!

i wonder what the limit is before it starts auto condensing?
we might be close to finding out! ;D

test...you don't have to read.

Re: test...you don't have to read.
I mainly see compressed threads go into like "outline mode" when there are tons of comments.

So maybe if there is like a total of 100 then it'll compress the threads with more than 5 comments, or something like that?

Re: test...you don't have to read.

it finally compressed!!!!!!! i think it came down to 50 comments per/original post....

on to the next experiment.
but first, i need a drink!!!!
