time to represent..

i just can't tell you how excited i am to be finally represented by a gallery. many artists feel this is a rite of passage. i've worked hard for this accomplishment - it took many years of promoting myself, developing my craft, and bouncing back after many bouts of doubt, discouraged that my 'gallery dream' was nothing but a fantasy. sure, it's not an end all, but it sure feels good to be included in a family, of sorts. the forward thinking vision, non-pretentious attitude, and uncompromising talent from all levels of this gallery made it well worth the wait.

crussell fine arts is a different breed of gallery altogether. and that's precisely why i like it. they represent artists, they lease and sell art, hold regular exhibitions (both juried and non, local and national), as well as host regular life drawing sessions throughout the year. and that's just the tip of the iceberg. jeffrey crussell, the executive director, even accepts submissions. so, GET ON iT PEOPLE!!!!! whether you're local or non, he'll consider it all.

i'll be featured as the 'july' artist, and although i haven't been 'unveiled' yet on the website, i'll give ya a sneak peek. hee heeeeee.....shhhhh, don't tell anyone.

just dropped in, surfing for book artists with found materials. I like your journal, it always makes me feel good to find other artists who are kinda normal and yet have creative strength. I hate weird stuff. I must confess I collect 'found' materials too and I am starting to run out of room. My studio is starting to get difficult to keep organised. Yours looks tidy, and I always love looking at other artists studios, don't you? It kinda gives me a feel for their work too. Anyway, I live in New Zealand and just thought I would say hi. Happy days for you and your new gallery. I hope you make back the money you lost asap. Did they find the peeps who stole your money? Keep creating. Rachelle

Re: Heyho
hi there....
nice to e-meet ya!!!

'i hate weird stuff'
(that made me laugh!)

i'm glad you get something out of my site, that makes me feel really good. i, too, loooooove peeping into the studios of others. in fact, my gallery is featuring 'studio visit' links into all the represented artist studios.

....so, check it out, if you're in a voyeuristic mood!

haven't caught the scammers yet, but i'm crossing my fingers...
