does art go stale?

stumbled across this web page tonight, and though it's over 2 years old, the images still seem so fresh. it also reminded me that i have an opening coming up, as one of the participating artists in crussell fine arts upcoming group exhibition.

dear portland readers:

you can also view some of my newer collages on view at chambers gallery through december 1st.

damn girl, those two 'shift' pieces are so cool. will you shoot me if my first response was/is: landscape, my girl gone doin' some mild references to landscapes? They are lovely and I esp. like those two pieces presented together/next to one another.

i admire how you continue to learn, find inspiration, look, read, look, look and look. being an artist is a life, not a job. not a choice. we just are. oh, too early for philosophy.

dearest, I'm so sorry to hear that you've been under the weather. i hope you are on the road to feeling better, although I do know how long that can take (with me, 6 months. ha ha. not funny). get better, please! postal card in the mail to you today. hope it finds you all better.

with lovin',

Re: coal-ahg
my deary rhSTLmo....

you are too kind!!!!!! and landscapes DO come to mind with the shifts, very astute observation so early in the morn... :) my original inspiration with these was tectonic shifts, subtle changes that make you uneasy, yet at the same time strangley at peace. perfection in imperfection. finding balance through imbalance. that sorta thing....

i'm so happy you like them.

and i've been so wanting to write you, but literally can't get out of bed some days, isn't that weird? i 'spose that's no excuse, cuz i could always bring my postals to bed with me, along with my 'puter, phone and food, like i always do!!!! i'll write you more juicy details about what's going on in my health challenged world, i promise.

i sure hope you're not illin' anymore....you rest easy and snuggle with your feline friends and beat this annual fall bug of yours, K?

love and hugs!

bedtime for the health-challenged
Love to witness the morphing of your work, dearest friend. It's an amazing feat. Love your description of inspiration. Love love lurv.

Darlin', I am so sorry you are so wiped out. Don't push yourself. And keep to bed, if that helps! I'm about to drag my sorry ass in to the bedroom & the compuer is going with.

You know how I haaaaate the cold weather. I joke that if I were rich, I'd be the Swoosie Kurtz character in "True Stories" all winter-long (see pic here: http://filmfanatic.org/reviews/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/Kurtz.JPG). Although, in my case, I'm not lazy--just cold. Gawd, I love that movie--was craving the soundtrack last week, so put that in the car for my drive-to-work tunes.

Stay healthy, mon amie.

RH, stlmo, BRrrrrrrrrrrr winter sux
