does ebay do right by you?

for my smaller, less tedious work, i sometimes dabble in ebay. it's just another venue that i try to explore and keep open. ideally, i would be able to sell solely from my website, but sadly, like many artists, i've been forced to invent other vehicles for promotion.

I like how you added the colorful bowling ball, looks like an Earth bowling ball swirl (never thought of Earth in that way before)

As always I like your catching fragments. "follow through by flinging" and catching the oddity of "comfortable but not too".

yup. the title of the book used in the collage was 'the 10 secrets of bowling.' darn if i know 'em, cuz i cut it up to shreds. guess i like a good mystery..

Considering all the variations how do you ever decide what to place from a book into a limited space collage?

It's difficult for me to actually cut up a book. If a book has great illustrations even more difficult. I realize that there will always be plenty of constantly new images, but I still want to save a books...and what of the reverse side that has a great illustration, then it is even more of a dilemma.

ah..you bring up a good point.
i have to justify cutting up a good book by thinking of it as sharing it with the world in a new light. and once you make that first cut, it makes every cut after a little easier. for me, cutting is sort of a zen, i don't know exactly 'why' i'm saving one particular image or text over the other. it just happens. i try not to let my left brain think about it too much, otherwise i wouldn't have cut it in the first place. ya know?

and the fact that i FOUND it and it was FREE makes it a wee bit easier to get the scissors out.

I have no money and need more art like yet another hole in my head (I move in a few months) but what could I do? I looked at this piece and it made my esophagus seize up, my eyes mist, and shivers go up the backs of my arms. So I had to had to bid.

ah shucks!
hate to bring this up (as it would impede my progress as a bread winner), but your symptoms might be attributed to the flu and require medical attention. heh heh.

good luck with the bidding!
you know who *i'm* plugging for..

Hehehe. The thing with the esophagus is for sure-- just how my body registers aesthetic absorption/rapture.

I think it is a bodymind message-- "don't eat right now fool because you'll prolly choke".

Not that I've ever done that. ;-)

guttural gasp..

this coming from such a great artEEst and ebay QUEEN..i'm honored.
thanks angie.

by viewing my art, your throat swelled, eyes ran, and arms tingled. either you were having a massive heart attack/anaphylactic allergic reaction or that was the biggest compliment i have EVER received. might have to go on the inside testimonial page of my next book!!!!

If I am ebay QUEEN, heed my mighty words; ebay is teh SUCK right now.

It is really, really bad. I haven't seen a bidding war in months. Tax time, the shrinking of the American "disposable" dollar, whatev. FWIW, IMHO, it is hard to give away work right now for the cost of shipping.

On the other hand, it is a freaking GREAT time to buy art. Collectors have been APOLOGIZING for how little they end up paying me for the art-- and if I score this piece I will be apologizing to you (as I worship it).
