getting gray rocks
I like my gray hair. I can't wait for it to fill in a little more. I wanted to let you know-the check is in the mail:) And just for the record, I don't consider you antisocial, I would say you are very introspective. You express yourself and reach out through your art. I do it through my job caring for people. When I get home, I spend most of my time by myself, but I think I prefer my doggies to most people. How many people do you know that will lick your feet-clean or dirty?! I really like rading the lj, I feel like I am getting to know some of the people who respond. I try and put faces together in my mind of what I think they look like. Anyway, my yarn is calling my name. pammy

I think my grays are beautiful. They are absolutely iridescent, but I have, to my knowledge, fewer than ten of them, so we'll see what I think in a few years.

Pimples are just plain awful. Awful, awful, awful, but mine are clearing up, thankfully.

Yeah, had the sudden realization the other day that my acne was almost entirely gone after so many months of struggling with it to the point of making appts. with dermatologists. I said, "It's just so weird. I mean, I wonder what has changed," and he said, "No school."

I was dumbfounded. I am pretty sure he is right. Nursing school ravaged my skin, the bastard!

stress..
it'll turn your hair white overnight!

i would think your stress is JUST beginning..my sister's a nurse, too. takes a certain soul to deal with that kind of topsy turvey lifestyle. add to that motherhood!!!! lawdy girl, you deserve a medal!!!!

Precisely why I created long_term_nurse to my group of communities I moderate. It's for nurses who work in long-term care. You know, the nicer way of saying "nursing homes."

My group student_nurses served me well when I was a student nurse and I still enjoy moderating/reading/participating in it, but I needed something specific to my needs as a professional nurse in her first job and long-term care is SO much more difficult than I ever expected mostly due to the fact that you're out there on your own with no one to turn to when you have question or problem (= so....fucking....scary.) Hopefully this new group will take off in the next few months.

Oh, and since we're all talking about gray hairs, you should check out the community info on am_i_old, my quirky little club. We need more members to get it active!

Alright now, milady, back to YOUR regularly scheduled programming. Sorry to hijack your thread.

geez louise woman, are you on the crack? you are one busy cheeka.

and your communities sound perfect for my sister (she used to work in nursing homes and now she's a student again, go figure) i've been trying to get her on Lj for months, but she's resisting. says she doesn't have anything 'interesting' to talk about. i say, if you're a nurse, you're interesting by default, what with all the cuh-razy mishaps that can go wrong in that kind of atmosphere. she's a shoe in.

and i'll have to check out your 'am i old' group, that sounds fun!!!!

Brutally honest...
I am completely shallow and vain and hate both my grey hair and my zits. i'm also not happy about the growing bags under my eyes, nor my gut that wont' go away.

I guess I really AM an LA girl. ;)
