purse swing my dreams..

so..
you've got 3 days.
do you have the pictures?
do you have the audio?
i'm accepting MP3's now, as well as micro and standard cassette tapes.
don't know how to make an MP3? go here, if you're a paying Lj customer.

i have found a tape recorder, and i could easily pick up a tape tomorrow, record my entry, and drop it in the mail to you...i just don't know where to find one of those cotton-pickin' photobooths! there don't seem to be any near me down here in nowhere, florida. would there be any way i could just take 4 digital pictures of myself, and you could maybe photoshop them and make them look photobooth-esqe? [if you would have the time to do it, i mean...i would do it myself, but i don't have photoshop or even know how to use it, ha!] if you wouldn't be able to do that, i might be able to find a friend who could do it for me in the next few days. my only concern is that i wouldn't make the deadline. :\

shh. don't tell anyone.
i just need you to make the background as SiMPLE as possibe. preferably pure white or dark. they need to be at least 2" high by 1.5" wide and from your chest up. kinda like your default icon, actually.

SWEET, thank you! a white background will be simple enough...all the walls in my apartment are white. :) i will get it all together for you tomorrow! [and don't worry - this'll be our little secret, hee!]

okay, i have put my tape in the mail to you!...and i discovered that i have some minimal photo editing skillz! well, using MS paint, anyhow. ;)

i took some pictures, turned them B&W, and gave them the photobooth strip look...i tried to make them grainy and contrasty like photobooth pics, which i know i didn't perfectly accomplish, but i tried! i will email the file if you like it. or i have the original pics in color and B&W if you don't like them and you'd rather arrange them yourself...you are the artistic mastermind, so feel free to honestly tell me what you think. i will be glad to send you any or all of the ones you want...

here is what i came up with, so just let me know which ones you'd like me to email!

In lite of the fun I have been having, i wasn't able to purseoo being part of your new collection. :( But, I have started my own art gallery with your help. I figure in a few more years all my walls will be full. Too cool! Hey, also THANK YOU for the beautiful tea roses. Nice surprise for comming home. I am home, I am well, and have lots of drugs if I choose to take them. By the way, Kim and Deb were over-brought me dinner and it was a good one- they loved the faces I have and are wondering if you still have more. They will probably contact you, but if not I thought I wld give you a heads up. Ok time for drugs, I mean bed. love you, pammy

HAHA! well, how about i take a nice digital pic of yours when it's all done and send that your way? you've got 2 in the works right now little missy. i'll be pasting them down in the next day or two..
and i'm in a mad rush to complete these, make a pedestal and pegs to set them on and hang...then whip up a proposal for an upcoming show this fall in pasadena, california. i'll be submitting to other venues, as well, but this one looks particularly promising because they're calling for 'interactive' or 'sound' based work. so, i'll be crossing my fingers and toes i make the cut..

i just read through some of these comments... you want me to scan my photobooth pics and email them to you?

i can send the tape out tomorrow with or without the pics... (i recorded 4 entries so you could choose what you wanted to use)

MAIL ART PARIS/LA EXPO
Love that bag... just surfin' around LA to check the art blogosphere in preparation for a big show out there opening 13 August, Saturday night. Living in Paris, I'm a bit of an affichiste...
