mommy dearest..

talked with my mom today..

she said she's not looking forward to her birthday (feb. 12) i'd tell you how old she's turning, but she told me this, and i quote,

'becky, i'll chop you up in little bits and drop you in the garbage disposal if you ever tell a living soul how old i am.' (in quite a matter of fact tone, i might add.)

then she adamantly told me her obituary notice will have NO mention of her age, otherwise the person responsible will be promptly diced and sliced and disposed of accordingly.

i love my mom.
she'd be the most unassuming serial killer.

My sister's birthday is on the 12th, as well! I'd tell everyone how really, really OLD she is but since I'm only 2.5 years younger than her, everyone'll figure out just how old *I* am... so my trap is also firmly shut! :)

Re: Hey!

what is it with the whole age thing? i mean, even in livejournal i'll go to people's bios to see how old they are, and they'll reveal the month, day, but no year. COME ON people! i'm proud that i'm still LiViNG, o.k.? god damn it, i'll wear my age like a fargin' badge! I'M 38, 38, 38 and i LOVE IT!!!!! age really means nothing more to me than : do you remember charlie's angels bubble gum trading cards and wax lips? it's a state of reference. honestly, i still feel like i'm in my 20's, only because i still have the same likes, dislikes, and hobbies that i did back then. who knows - maybe i'll still like listening to bjork, thrift store shopping and walking 10 miles a day when i'm 90. let's hope..

Re: Hey!
Well, I don't mind revealing my age to YOU... just don't tell anyone else... but I'm 21! Shhh!!! See, I'm not old... I'm not old at all! It just so happens I have an old soul, hence my pristine recall of Charlie's Angels (even before Cheryl left!) and bubble gum trading cards (but what the heck were the wax lips???). And although I dig Bjork, there is NO way I could ever relate to walking 10 miles a day... to quote Calvin, "I just can't relate to that kind of work ethic." :o)
