thinking inside the box.

introducing the latest craze..
boxed garbage.
not only garbage folks, we're talking grade A, state of the art (complete with essence of yer-ine) new york city trash. yup.
i imagine the same people who bought pet rocks and mood rings will be lining up to spend their hard earned $50(!!!!) just to own one of these little gems.

mixed media and found objects on altered book cover

i suppose some might lump me in the same category, considering i transform trash into art. hell, i even take it one step further and call my trash 'ephemera.' but, while they're merely cramming rubbish into a pretty box and calling it 'art,' i'm laboring over composition, form, color and content. sad part is, they'll probably sell quite a bit of these cubes stuffed with genuine NYC crack pipes, condoms and cigarette butts. but, for how long? i'm perfectly willing to take the slow and steady road, thank you. and, oh yes, let's not forget...i can sleep at night.
